You’re likely to find scenery in Oregon that suits you if you decide you want to attend Aircraft Dispatcher Schools here. This state has forests, deserts, beaches, cliffs, hills and valleys. The average annual snowfall in the three largest cities in the state is about six inches. The state’s average temperature in January is 32 degrees. The average temperature here in the summer is 66 degrees. You can expect rain in this state.

Portland is the largest city in the state. Over 500,000 people live here and almost nine million people visited the city in 2009.

You’ll have a great time while you’re attending training in Portland if you like outdoor activities. You can hike up Council Crest to see a scenic view of the Portland skyline. There’s a running trail along the Williamette River. Hiking through Forest Park will give you a chance to see some wildlife. Portland is a good place for bike riding. Many of the major streets have bike lanes.

There are more outdoor recreational opportunities at Mount Hood. Mount Hood is about 60 miles from Portland. You can go mountain climbing and skiing here.

There are also plenty of things to do indoors in the Portland area. You can watch basketball games at the Rose Quarter. Concerts are held at the Merrill Auditorium. You’ll find plenty of stores and restaurants at Pioneer Place and Lloyd Center.

Portland was founded in the 1840s. There’s a lot of information about the state’s history at the Oregon Historical Society.

Salem is about 47 miles south of Portland. This is the second largest city in the state and you’ll find a variety of things to do here. The city’s museums have exhibits focusing on antique farm machinery, history, natural history, art and numerous other items. You can learn about history of forests in Oregon at the Forest History Center. You’ll be able to tour a Victorian home and walk through gardens at the Historic Deepwood Estate. There’s a variety of merchandise at the shops in downtown Salem. The Historic Elsinore Theatre opened in the 1920s. You can attend movies, concerts and musicals in this theatre.

You’ll find some interesting things to do just outside Salem. Canada geese can be seen during the winter at the Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge. The deck outside the tasting room at the Ankeny Vineyard overlooks the Refuge.

The third largest city in the state is Eugene. It is about 67 miles south of Salem. The Williamette River flows through the city. Eugene is surrounded by mountains. You’ll find plenty to do outdoors in Eugene. Rasor Park is on the river. There are places for biking and walking here. You can hike through a forest up to the top of Spencer Butte.

Eugene also has things to do indoors. You can attend a variety of performances at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
