There’s a variety of merchandise at the shops in downtown Salem. The Historic Elsinore Theatre opened in the 1920s. You can attend movies, concerts and musicals in this theatre.
You’ll find some interesting things to do just outside Salem. Canada geese can be seen during the winter at the Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge. The deck outside the tasting room at the Ankeny Vineyard overlooks the Refuge.
The third largest city in the state is Eugene. It is about 67 miles south of Salem. The Williamette River flows through the city. Eugene is surrounded by mountains.
