More Information About Training in South Dakota

You’ll have a good time attending Aircraft Dispatcher Schools in South Dakota if you like wide open spaces. This state has a lot of prairies and plains. There are some mountains here. The winters in this state are long, cold and snowy. The annual average snowfall in the state’s two largest cities is about 40 inches. Winter temperatures average between 10 degrees and 20 degrees. Temperatures during the winter may go down to zero. The average temperature in the state during July is between 72 degrees and 75 degrees. Summer temperatures can go up to 100 degrees.

Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota. Visiting the Old Courthouse Museum and the Sioux City Public Museum will give you information about the history of the area. You can get a look at how an early 20th century home was furnished when you visit the Pettigrew Home & Museum. There are more historic buildings in the Fourth Street Historic District in downtown Sioux Falls.

You’ll find a number of places to shop and eat in the downtown area. There are more stores and restaurants at the Southern Hills Mall and the Marketplace Shopping Centre.

Sioux Falls has some things that you’ll be able to do indoors during the winter. You can attend concerts and plays at the Orpheum Theater. The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra performs at the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Sciences. Places to see during the warmer months of the year include the Great Plains Zoo and the Wild Water West Waterpark.

Rapid City is the second largest city in the state. It is five hours west of Sioux Falls. You can learn about the city by taking a guided trolley tour.

There are a lot of things to see in Rapid City. Bronze statues of the country’s Presidents stand on corners in the downtown area. There are thousands of flowers in the gardens at Halley Park.

One of the indoor attractions in Rapid City is the WaTiki Indoor Waterpark. Other things to do indoors in the city are visiting museums and shopping. Interactive exhibits at the Journey Museum focus on the history of the region. The Museum of Geology has displays of minerals and fossils. The Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries sells Native American crafts. The Rushmore Mall has department stores and specialty shops.

The Mount Rushmore memorial is in the Black Hills about 21 miles south of Rapid City. This memorial has the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt carved in granite. These faces are 60 feet high and 500 feet above the ground. There are areas in the Black Hills where you’ll be able go hiking and mountain climbing.
