You’ll appreciate the scenery in Washington if you like to see mountains and green trees. Most of the state’s major cities are located in valleys between the mountain ranges. The climate varies in different parts of the state. The city of Spokane in the eastern part of the state gets 48 8inches of snow a year. Spokane is the second largest city in Washington. It is near mountains and lakes. You’ll find plenty of recreational activities here. Mount Spokane State Park is 30 miles from Spokane. You can ski here during the day or at night. There are places to camp during the summer. West Blackhorse Lake is about 18 miles from Spokane. You’ll be able to fish here during warm weather.

The Spokane River flows through the city. Riverfront Park is on the edge of the river and there are a lot of things to do there. You can walk along the Centennial Trail next to the river. A trip on the SkyRide will give you a scenic view of the river and Spokane Falls.

Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington. You’ll learn about the state’s history at the Washington State History Museum. You can see artists working with glass at the Museum of Glass.

One of the places to shop in Tacoma is Freighthouse Square. This is a 110,000 square foot building with shops and restaurants.
