More Information About Training in Utah

Utah is a good place to attend Aircraft Maintenance Schools if you don’t mind snow in the winter and heat in the summer. This state has valleys, mountains, deserts and lakes. The Salt Lake City area and the Provo area are the two largest metropolitan areas in the state. Salt Lake City has an annual snowfall of about 50 inches a year. Provo receives a yearly snowfall of between 10 and 20 inches. Some places in the mountains of the state receive over 500 inches of snow a year. Temperatures in Salt Lake City in January range between 25 and 39 degrees. January temperatures in Provo are between 18 and 37 degrees. July temperatures in Salt Lake City and Provo are around 90 degrees. Summer temperatures in the mountains and mountain valleys are cooler.

Nearly 200,000 people live in Salt Lake City. West Valley City has a population of 125,096 and is considered part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. You’ll be able to do a variety of things while you’re in training here.

Some of Salt Lake City’s attractions are indoors. You can visit these during the snowy winters. The Family History Library is the world’s largest genealogical library. The Governor’s Mansion was built in 1902 and is open for tours. You can attend performances by the Utah Symphony Orchestra at Abravanel Hall. The Utah Opera performs at the Capitol Theatre.

You won’t mind the snow during the winter if you like to ski. Salt Lake City is about 30 miles from several places in the mountains where you’ll be able to ski. You can hike in the mountains during the warmer weather. There are other things to do outdoors during the warm weather near Salt Lake City. You can go boating on the Great Salt Lake.

There are interesting outdoor places to visit in the city during the warm weather. Temple Square is the world headquarters of the Mormon Church. You can learn about the Mormons and their history in Utah at the visitors’ centers in Temple Square. There are parks and gardens in this 35 acre square. A visit to This Is The Place Heritage Park will give you a vivid picture of pioneer life in Utah.

Provo is 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. There are thing to do outdoors in this area. The Sundance Resort is about 15 miles from Provo. There are places to ski in the winter and hike in the summer. You can take rafting trips down the Provo River.

There are some things you can do indoors in Provo during the winter. You can see the displays of fossils at the Museum of Paleontology at Brigham Young University. The Brigham Young University Symphony Orchestra performs during the winter. You can attend concerts at the Covey Center for the Arts.
