More Information About Training in Vermont

Over 14 million people visit Vermont each year to see the many attractions this state has to offer. Tourism is the state’s largest industry. You’ll find a lot of things to do if you decide to attend Aircraft Maintenance Schools here. This state is cold and snowy. The average temperature in January is 16 degrees and the average snowfall in the state is 79 inches. Up to 125 inches of snow might fall in the mountains. The average temperature here in the summer is 79 degrees. The terrain in this state includes mountains, hills and valleys.

Burlington is the largest city in the state. This city and the surrounding area have a number of things to see and do. The city is on the shore of Lake Champlain and you’ll find some things to do on the waterfront. The city has several parks on the lake. There’s a path where you can walk or bike at Riverfront Park. You can sit on bench by the side of the lake and watch the sun set. Leddy Park has a beach and tennis courts. There are places to camp at North Beach. You can go ice skating on the lake during the winter. The ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center is next to the lake. The exhibits here have 70 different types of sea creatures.

Burlington offers some things to do indoors during the winter. The Robert Hull Fleming Museum has over 20,000 objects from around the world. Displays at the museum focus on the cultural heritage of different parts of the world. The Burlington Town Center is an indoor mall with a department store, specialty stores and some restaurants. You can attend performances by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.

There are things to do outside in the winter if you don’t mind the cold. The Sugarbush Resort is about 45 minutes south of Burlington. There are over 100 trails for skiing and snowboarding here. You can take a guided tour into the Slide Brook Basin Wilderness Area.

You’ll find plenty to do outside after the weather warms up. You can shop in the stores along the Church Street pedestrian mall. The Burlington Farmers’ Market is held weekly during the summer. There are sightseeing cruises on Lake Champlain. A drive through the area during the fall will give you a look at the state’s fall foliage.

Some interesting places to visit are near Burlington. You can tour the Teddy Bear Factory in Shelburne and the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory in Waterbury. There’s a lot of information about the state’s history at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier. A tour of Dakin Farm in Ferrisburg will give you a chance to see how cheese and maple syrup are made. The Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge offers vineyard tours, wine tasting and canoe trips.
