The Boeing Co. on Thursday reported the delivery of 118 commercial airplanes in the second quarter, up from 114 a year earlier.
Slightly more 767 and 777 jets were delivered this year. But the bulk of the quarterly deliveries were 737 Next Generation jets — 94 of them.
For the first half of the year, the company delivered 222 aircraft, the same as last year.
Deliveries from Boeing’s defense, space and security program were down for the quarter — 30 vs. 33 in the same period last year — and for the first half of the year – 58 vs. 61 last year. Those products included Chinook helicopters, F-15 fighter jets, C-17 transport aircraft and satellites.
