Corporate Pilot Job Demand High

Pilots with the most experience both from a time and type of aircraft standpoint, will have an advantage in hiring. Pilots with the most education will also have an easier time getting hired. As a new corporate pilot, you can expect strong competition from other pilots, so the sooner you begin earning your licenses and ratings, the better. You'll also need to build flight time as fast as possible, especially multi-engine time. Perhaps the holy grail for aspiring corporate pilots is multi turbine time. Get as much of it as you can, because employers are looking for it.

Corporate Pilot Job Growth

Corporate pilots get hired by fractional ownership operations, time-share operations, and by individual companies who have their own flight departments. Since companies are susceptible to swings in the economy, so too are corporate pilot jobs. You can expect new jobs to be harder to find in times of economic downturn. The type of equipment you'll fly also varies greatly from company to company. For example, many fractional operators have huge fleets of midsize business jets, while an individual company may have a twin engine turboprop, or even a small piston twin.
