Considering Flight Schools in Illinois?
You’ll find that Illinois is a good place to attend Flight Schools if you’re not interested in skiing. You won’t see a lot of mountains in this flat state. It does get cold enough for skiing in the winter when temperatures drop to below 20 degrees. You’ll see snow in the winter. High temperatures in the state are usually in the 80s.
You’ll like training in Chicago if you like big cities. Nearly three million people live here and over 39 million people visited the city in 2009. Some of the things you can do here are visit museums, see historical sites and shop. You’ll enjoy the city’s proximity to Lake Michigan and the Chicago River if you like being close to the water.
Chicago was incorporated in 1837. There are a number of historic districts and museums here. Some of the historic districts with buildings dating back to the 18th century are the Astor Street District, the Armitage-Halsted District and the Burling Row House District. Museums include the Field Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Broadcast Communications.
You can walk, jog or bike along Lake Michigan. There are places for swimming at the beaches on the lake during the summer months. A water taxi will take you along the Chicago River through part of the city.
You’ll really like Chicago’s Magnificent Mile if you enjoy shopping. There are over 400 stores on this part of Michigan Avenue. You can also shop at Water Tower Place, the Shops at North Bridge and on Oak Street.
Other places to see in the city are the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium and the Lincoln Park Zoo. You can see Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana from the top of the John Hancock Observatory. You can ice skate up here on synthetic ice during the winter. There’s a panoramic view of Chicago from the Skydeck on the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower. You can sample Italian food in Little Italy and taste Greek cooking in Greektown.

You’ll see an example of a farmhouse from the 1840s and a Victorian mansion from 1883. There’s a log house and a stonecarver’s shop. The village is on 13 acres and flowers bloom here all year round.
Geneva’s another historic city that can be reached by a day trip from Chicago. Some of the homes here date back to the middle of the 19th century. The town has over 100 specialty shops. A visit to the Fabyan Villa Museum and Japanese Garden will give you a chance to stroll through a 100 year old Japanese Garden. The museum has natural history specimens and Asian artifacts.
