The two largest cities in the state are Minneapolis and St. Paul. These cities are next to each other and are known as the Twin Cities. There’s a lot to do and see in the Twin Cities area.

You can walk or bike along the path that circles the Chain. Lake Hiawatha Park has a beach and tennis courts. Minnehaha Falls Park is home to the John H. Stevens House. This house was built in 1849 and objects related to the founding of Minneapolis are displayed here.

You can tour historic houses in neighboring St. Paul. The Alexander Ramsey House was built during the Victorian area. The James J. Hill House dates back to 1891. A tour of this home will give you a picture of life in a mansion during the 19th century.

You’ll find some interesting places to visit in downtown St. Paul. The museums in the downtown area are the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Minnesota Children’s Museum and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Opera perform at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. You can walk through downtown in climate controlled skyways.
