You’ll enjoy attending Helicopter Training in Kansas if you like flat land and rolling hills. Temperatures in this state range from a little over 20 degrees in the winter to 90 degrees in the summer. You’ll see snow here in the winter.

There’s a lot to see and do in this state. Tourism brings over five billion dollars to the state every year. Wichita, Overland Park and Kansas City are the three largest cities in the state. You’ll enjoy furthering your education in any of these cities.

The downtown Wichita area has a lot to see and do. The Museums on the River District is five minutes away from downtown. The Wichita Art Museum in this area is the biggest art museum in the state. There are almost 7,000 pieces of art in the museum’s permanent collection. The Museum of World Treasures has artifacts from ancient civilizations all over the world. You can see displays on American Presidents and American military history. The Wichita Symphony Orchestra and the Wichita Grand Opera perform in downtown Wichita. There are places to eat and shop in the converted brick warehouses in Oldtown.

One of the things to do outdoors in Wichita is visit the animals at the Sedgwick County Zoo. The Cowtown Museum is an open air museum where you’ll get a vivid picture of Kansas life in the late 19th century. You can see wildflowers, trees and birds at Chisholm Creek Park.

Overland Park and Kansas City are about 187 miles from Wichita. You’ll find a variety of things to do in this area. There’s a zoo, a water park and a number of museums. Visiting the Kansas City Museum on a former lumber baron’s estate will give you a lot of information about the area’s history. You can hear lectures and see films on Kansas City history in the museum’s StoryTarium. The Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center has over 30 rooms of exhibits. These exhibits provide information about the ethnic heritage of early settlers in the area.

You can take day trips from the Kansas City area to see more of the state’s attractions. The town of Lawrence is 45 minutes away. Lawrence’s main street is lined with old buildings. There are four floors of exhibits at the Natural History Museum at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. The Prairie Park Nature Center in Lawrence has walking trails where you can view birds and wildlife.

Baldwin City is about 46 miles from Kansas City. You can take an excursion train ride from Baldwin City to Ottawa Junction. You’ll see farms and woods on this train ride.

The OZ Museum in Wamego is less than two hours away from Kansas City. Displays at this museum are related to “The Wizard of Oz”. You can see early editions of the Oz books by L. Frank Baum.
