Considering Helicopter Training in Missouri?

Missouri is a good place to attend Helicopter Training if you don’t mind cold winters. Temperatures can be as low as 16 degrees in the winter and there can be up to 20 inches of snow. Summers are humid and high temperatures range from 68 degrees to 88 degrees. The state has some hills and plains.

Kansas City is the state’s biggest city. There’s a lot to do in downtown Kansas City. Union Station has an exhibit on railroad history and a large model train display. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has over 33,500 works of art. There are exhibits on jazz and African American culture at the American Jazz Museum. You can see concerts and basketball games at the Sprint Center. The Arabia Steamboat Museum has clothing, dishes and other items that were recovered from a sunken steamboat.

The Country Club Plaza is another area in Kansas City that has a lot of things to do. This 15 block area has over 150 stores and a number of restaurants.

There are places in Kansas City to see animals and plants. The Kansas City Zoo has animals from Australia, Africa and Asia. You can see wildlife at the Lakeside Nature Center. There are over 100 varieties of roses in the garden at Jacob L. Loose Park. There’s a bird sanctuary in Mill Creek Park.

You can get an idea of what life was like in 19th century Missouri at the Shoal Creek Living History Museum. The museum has a village with buildings that date back to the 19th century.

St. Louis is the second biggest city in the state. It is about 250 miles east of Kansas City. You’ll be able to see some interesting attractions while you’re in training here. One of the things to see is the St. Louis Gateway Arch. Over one million people visit this attraction annually. You can ride a tram up to the observation deck at the top of the Arch. The Arch is 630 feet high and you’ll be able to see about 30 miles from the observation deck.

Laclede’s Landing is on the riverfront near the Arch. This area has cobblestone streets and buildings that are a century old. There are shops and restaurants here. You can take river cruises and carriage rides from the Landing.

You can see baseball games at Busch Stadium and football games at the Edward Jones Dome.
There’s a lot to do at St. Louis Union Station. This former train station is now home to a hotel, offices, specialty shops and restaurants.

There are a number of museums to visit in St. Louis. The City Museum has an aquarium with stingrays, sharks and other sea creatures. There’s also a model railroad at this museum. Some of the other museums are the Missouri History Museum, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum and the Museum of Transportation.
