Wyoming is a good place to attend Flight & Helicopter Schools International Students if you don’t mind cold weather and snow. You might experience temperatures in the 40s in August in this state. The snowfall in different parts of the state varies. Cheyenne has an average snowfall of 55 inches and Casper has an average snowfall of 77 inches. Temperatures in the winter can be as low as 12 degrees. July temperatures might be as high as 87 degrees.

Cheyenne is the biggest city in the state. It was founded in 1867. You can learn about the early days of the state at the Wyoming State Museum. Exhibits at the Cheyenne Depot Museum focus on the founding of the city and the role Cheyenne played in the Union Pacific Railroad’s operation. The city’s Western heritage is celebrated every year during Cheyenne Frontier Days in July. This is the country’s largest outdoor rodeo. Events include cattle roping and bull riding. A carnival with rides and games is held at the same time.

There are a number of things for you to do outdoors in the Cheyenne area while you’re attending school here. Curt Gowdy State Park is 24 miles west of Cheyenne. You can fish for trout and salmon in the reservoirs here. The park has campsites. The Cheyenne Botanic Garden has a rose garden, a cactus garden, a rock garden and many other gardens. You can see camels and ostriches on a tour of the Terry Bison Ranch.

You’ll find plenty to do indoors in Cheyenne. There are department stores, specialty shops and restaurants at the Frontier Mall. You can attend performances by the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

Casper is the second biggest city in the state. The city was founded in 1888. The Fort Caspar Museum has exhibits on the history of the city and the state. Other museums in the city are the Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center and the Wyoming Veterans’ Memorial Museum. The Tate Geological Museum and the Werner Wildlife Museum are located at Tate College in Cheyenne.

There are other things you can do in Casper while you’re obtaining further education here. You can see laser light shows at the Casper Planetarium or shop at the Eastridge Mall. The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra performs at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

You can ski at the Hogadon Ski Area or ice skate at the Casper Ice Arena. There are outdoor swimming pools at Mike Sedar Park, Marion Kreiner Park and Washington Park. You can take a wagon train ride on the same trails the early settlers used.

The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo is held in Casper in July. Casper is home to the Casper Ghosts minor league baseball team. You can watch the Ghosts play at Mike Lansing Field.
