Museums include the Field Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Broadcast Communications.
You can walk, jog or bike along Lake Michigan. There are places for swimming at the beaches on the lake during the summer months. A water taxi will take you along the Chicago River through part of the city.
You’ll really like Chicago’s Magnificent Mile if you enjoy shopping. There are over 400 stores on this part of Michigan Avenue. You can also shop at Water Tower Place, the Shops at North Bridge and on Oak Street.
Other places to see in the city are the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium and the Lincoln Park Zoo. You can see Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana from the top of the John Hancock Observatory. You can ice skate up here on synthetic ice during the winter. There’s a panoramic view of Chicago from the Skydeck on the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower. You can sample Italian food in Little Italy and taste Greek cooking in Greektown.

A visit to the Fabyan Villa Museum and Japanese Garden will give you a chance to stroll through a 100 year old Japanese Garden. The museum has natural history specimens and Asian artifacts.
