These exhibits provide information about the ethnic heritage of early settlers in the area.
You can take day trips from the Kansas City area to see more of the state’s attractions. The town of Lawrence is 45 minutes away. Lawrence’s main street is lined with old buildings. There are four floors of exhibits at the Natural History Museum at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Baldwin City is about 46 miles from Kansas City. You can take an excursion train ride from Baldwin City to Ottawa Junction. You’ll see farms and woods on this train ride.
