Alpine Aviation Academy
The flight training industry is set up so that as new pilots progress through their training they are hired as flight instructors as their first job. This means that new student pilots are learning to fly from low time instructors with limited experience and exposure to real world flying. At Alpine Aviation we offer instruction from higher time pilots with the experience needed to build safe and successful pilots.
Our location in Caldwell, Idaho offers a wide variety of different environmental exposure that is beneficial to becoming an experienced pilot. The treasure valley offers student pilots flight experience on scenic rivers, rugged mountains, open prairies, and lots of rolling hills full of agriculture. During the summer the increased temperatures allow us to train in a high Density Altitude environment, which is important for high altitude experience. The Caldwell Industrial Airport is located in uncontrolled (class G) airspace, which allows a lower stress and workload training environment. We are minutes from the Boise airport, which is in controlled (class C) airspace giving us the ability to train our pilots in controlled airspace/airport operations as well as Instrument training.
From your first intro flight to professional pilot training, Alpine Aviation will ensure you meet your goals, have fun, and get to where you want to be. Every Person has goals that are unique to their individual needs and lifestyle. We understand those needs and create custom programs to fit the needs of each and every one of our students
Our focus is to teach our students through quality flight training for a reasonable price and in an efficient time frame. Not all students learn the same way or at the same pace, so we tailor our training to meet the needs of the individual student and their learning abilities. Alpine Aviation is a school that values the students’ progress as well as the importance of their flight training portion of their new career.

Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL)
- The commercial pilot course is for people with a private pilot license who wish to continue their training into the world of commercial operations, either to increase proficiency or for future employment possibilities. A commercial certificate is needed in order to receive compensation while acting as Pilot in Command.
Private License (PPL)
- A private pilot license is for those people that are wanting to learn to fly for their own personal benefit. Whether it be for a hobby, or if you are planning to purchase your own aircraft, a private pilot license allows you to fly for your own enjoyment. With your private pilot certificate you are allowed to take family, friends and co-workers flying while acting as pilot in command.
Instrument Rating (IR)
- The instrument rating is for private pilots who want to expand their piloting skills, learn more about navigation, weather, and aircraft systems. Instrument training involves learning how to fly by reference to the aircraft instruments inside the cockpit when flying in bad weather. If wanting to become a commercial pilot many employers require an instrument rating.
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) -
This course is for pilots who hold a Commercial Pilot license and want to become a Certified Flight Instructor. This allows a pilot to give flight instruction and endorse logbooks of other pilots in training. This program is recommended if looking for possible employment as a pilot. Most career pilots use this as a way to build their first 1000 hours in order to get hired into the commercial pilot industry.
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
- This course is for the instrument rated commercial pilot that wants to be able to teach instrument to other pilots.
