Avionics Line Maintenance Certification

Whether you already have your Airframe & Powerplant certificate or plan to obtain it at Embry-Riddle, you have an opportunity to continue your education with the Avionics Line Maintenance Specialization (ALM).

In this four-month certificate program, you'll learn aircraft electronics (avionics) system installation, wiring concepts, and line troubleshooting of avionics aircraft problems, and will prepare to test for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license.

Building upon electrical and electronics training received in the A&P program, you will learn the theories and concepts needed to pass the FCC Radiotelephone Operator License test.

The Avionics Line Maintenance courses are available as part of a minor course of study. The minor includes the 12 credit hours of ALM courses, plus 8 additional credit hours of aircraft electrical courses, for a total of 20 credit hours. The minor is an excellent addition to several undergraduate degrees at Embry-Riddle.

Why ALM?

Embry-Riddle's ALM program was designed specifically to provide what the industry needs - aviation maintenance technicians with the knowledge and skills to solve any problem found on modern aircraft.

Applicants with experience on the flight line are often put at the top of the list for employment consideration. Airlines offer higher wages to avionics technicians with an FCC license.

This program is available to all aviation maintenance professionals with an A&P certificate.

ERAU is proud to offer the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program to those who qualify.
