Heli-flight (NZ) Ltd is a privately owned New Zealand company offering a full range of helicopter services in the North Island of New Zealand. Heli-flight has experienced steady growth since its early beginnings in 1981.

A note for international students:
There are many factors you may want to consider when deciding which training organisation is right for you. Generally cost, reputation and the best advice to suit your long term goal are the most important. Traveling to New Zealand may seem like a long flight away but you will be surprised at the highly competitive training packages available. We will assist with arranging everything you will require to settle into New Zealand including your accommodation, visa, medical and even a budget including living expenses. Whether you are interested in gaining your Private Pilot’s Licence or Commercial Pilot’s Licence, the conversion is easier than you think. Heli-flight also offers JAA and FAA focused training packages.

Heli-flight’s training programmes run alongside the busy commercial operation providing the student with a valuable insight and understanding of what you would expect once you become a Commercial Helicopter Pilot.

Heli-flight is fully approved by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and offers full time programmes in addition to the private tailored training available.

If you already have a career but want the excitement of helicopter flight in your life, then a Private Pilot’s Licence is for you. Imagine hiring a helicopter for the weekend and taking a friend to the beach, into the mountains or just turning up on their lawn. To convert your Private Pilot’s Licence is a straight forward process anywhere in the world.

For a career - Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL)
If you have a serious passion to fly and want to make helicopter flying your career, then a Commercial Pilot’s Licence is for you. Obtaining your CPL (H) will give you a career filled with variety, excitement, continual challenges and stimulation. Your profession may take you to fantastic locations and far away places. Heli-flight can offer detailed advice and information on converting your Commercial Pilot’s Licence to fly anywhere in the world. Ask about our JAA and FAA focused training packages.

Fly yourself - Hour Building & New Zealand Touring
Perhaps you already have an overseas licence and would just like to hour build in our spectacular country. Heli-flight can tailor a North Island, South Island or Nationwide tour including your accommodation, activities and sightseeing whilst building hours.

Formal Qualification
There is full time programmes available including the Certificate in Aviation (Commercial Pilot’s Licence) and Certificate in Advanced Aviation (Instructor’s Rating). This is for the student that prefers a structured full time course. Student loans are available to citizens and residents of New Zealand only.

Advanced Training
To improve your employment prospects you may decide to look at advanced training options. Heli-flight can provide advanced training for a Turbine Rating, Mountain Training, Sling Training, Night Rating, Flight Instructor’s Rating, Type Ratings and more.
