High Desert Helicopters is a premiere flight training academy located at the Ogden-Hinkley Airport in Ogden, Utah. We’ve worked hard to create a training program that builds a solid foundation for success as a career helicopter pilot. Career Focused

A career as a helicopter pilot requires skill, experience and professional discipline. Any pilot hiring employer is looking for the best that is out there. Simply paying for school and earning your license alone won’t get you any closer to landing these great jobs.

High Desert Helicopters builds career pilots. We work with your future employers to learn what they demand from employees and train accordingly.

Training Aircraft

High Desert pilots are trained in the Schweizer 300C helicopter, the same aircraft used for many years in the military training program. We prefer the 300C for its triple rotor stability and its ability to train heavier and/or taller pilots.

The Schweizer 300C was built specifically for training, and even though the aircraft costs 20% more than other typical trainers, we don’t pass that extra expense on to you. That’s part of our commitment to your success.



Financial

All student money paid to High Desert Helicopters in advance of training is placed into an escrow account that is managed by an independent escrow company. High Desert Helicopters only withdraws from your escrow account on a weekly basis those amounts that you incurred and approved during your weeks training. This guarantees that your money is safe and should you decide to withdraw from our school your money can and is promptly refunded. In addition, you are provided a monthly detailed statement of your account and should you need access to your information it will be provided to you at any time you need to see it during normal business hours.
