K-State at Salina is now offering an Avionics bachelor degree option as well as a certificate. The skills learned in this degree program will prepare you for a career in avionics maintenance with an emphasis on line-based maintenance.
The program provides the education and practical experience needed for careers in the rapidly growing avionics segment of the aviation maintenance industry. Current A&Ps can test out of half the classes for the certificate option, leaving only two semesters to earn the National Center for Aircraft Technician Training-certified rating
Graduates from K-State Salina enter careers as avionics technicians at major airlines, national and international carriers, regional airlines, and corporate and general aviation operators.
The Aviation Maintenance / Avionics department is located in the 33,000 square-foot Aviation Center equipped with modern classrooms and computer labs. Training equipment includes operable turbine engines, flyable piston engines, and complete flyable aircraft used in systems, inspections, repairs, and replacement maintenance training. K-State Salina's facilities are organized similarly to commuter or general aviation hangar operations.
