Leading Edge Aviation - Flight training that is about more than training- it's Career Preparation!
First, we train at The Right Altitude. The Bend Airport (KBND) is a perfect place to learn to fly! Located at 3400 feet our altitude is ideal for flying Robinsons in and out of the mountains. At higher altitudes, training can be limited for safety reasons and at sea level, high altitude experience is not available, making Bend the best of both!
Second, The Right Location, Bend, Oregon offers over 300 days of sunshine a year, yet we see it all! Four seasons bring rain, sleet, snow, wind and a whole lot of sunshine to best prepare you for all the elements you will see in your career. Bend also offers students ease of training due to the close proximity of instrument approaches, controlled airspace, 10,000' Mountains, open dessert and much more.. In addition to being an excellent place to train, Bend is a great place to live! Mountains, valleys, canyons, rivers and the high desert offer a playground for biking, hiking, skiing and kayaking. Couple the outdoor adventure with great restaurants and access to 17 micro-breweries, you may end up desiring to call Bend home.
Next, The Right Team to prepare you for a career. Most flight schools are managed and even owned by relatively new helicopter pilots. Leading Edge's management team has over 35,000 hours of helicopter experience and over 100 years in the industry, cumulative.
