Multi Engine Rating
An Instrument Rating allows you to fly throughout NZ navigating using aircraft instruments and navigation aids. This enables you to fly through cloud without and visual reference to the ground below. It is a must for those wanting to pursue a career as a pilot in the airlines or in most large charter companies.
The syllabus as set down by the NZ Civil Aviation Authority requires a minimum of 40 hours instrument flying.
Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR):
10 hours in a flight simulator
10 hours single engine flight time
20 hours multi engine flight time
