![]() Mountain One Helicopters Flight Training Thanks for your interest in Mountain One Helicopters. We are a small school based just north of Denver, Colorado at Erie Airport (KEIK) and at the Centennial Airport just south of Denver in Englewood, Colorado. We fly the turbo charged Enstrom 280FX, Schweizer 300c, and the turbine powered Enstrom 480B. A majority of our training is off-airport, mountain-based flying surrounded by the highest peaks in the lower 48. In addition to our location north of Denver and a 10-minute flight from the Rockies, we also operate a mountain campus near Telluride, in Southwest Colorado. Our Locations Mountain One Helicopters has two very different training locations on Colorado's Front Range. Mountain One North is based just north of Denver, Colorado at Erie Airport (KEIK). Mountain One South is located just south of Denver, at Centennial Airport (KAPA). Erie is a quiet uncontrolled airport and Centennial is a very busy Class Delta airport with a control tower. In addition to our Erie and Centennial locations, Mountain One runs a mountain campus near Telluride, Colorado, that offers high altitude flying between 8,000 and 14,000 MSL on private land that covers over 15,000 acres of spectacular alpine terrain. Our Programs We offer flight training from the initial private though certified flight instructor (CFI) and all ratings in between. We also provide mountain specific courses for pilots with previous flight experience and Enstrom only courses for pilots interested in these wonderful helicopters. In addition we are partnered with a respected fixed wing flight school at our Erie location making it exceptionally convenient for pilots looking to obtain multiple ratings or use an airplane to build hours. In addition to top-notch flight training we believe quality ground training is just as important. We have worked hard to create a customized syllabus and ground curriculum that goes well beyond the FAA requirements - we teach to a level we believe is necessary to make expert pilots in our demanding mountain environment. We look for the right fit between your goals as a pilot and our flight training programs. If we believe your requirements will be better served at a different school, we'll certainly tell you this. We are not a pilot factory and take a limited number of students each year to ensure the best possible training environment, which means access to helicopters, flexibility in scheduling, and a truly customized program based on your goals.
