You’ll think Iowa is an enjoyable place to attend Flight Schools if you like farmland. The rich soil of this state makes it a good place for farming. There are farms on approximately 30 million acres of the land here.

The soil in the state is good for growing grapes. You’ll enjoy visiting the wineries here if you like wine. The Jasper Winery near Des Moines has free wine tastings. You can view the winery’s barrel room and production area from the tasting room.

Des Moines is the largest city in the state and there are plenty of things to do here all year round. There are a number of outdoor attractions in the area. There’s a huge lake at Easter Park where you can go swimming, fishing and boating. The Blank Park Zoo has over 1,000 animals. You can see gardens on the river at the Des Moines Botanical Center.

Summer is a pleasant time for outdoor activities in this state. High temperatures range between 80 and 90 degrees. Des Moines has some indoor activities for the cold winters. High temperatures during January are between 22 and 32 degrees.

You’ll find a lot to do indoors in Des Moines. The Salisbury House & Gardens date back to the 1920s. This 42 room house was inspired by a 15th century house in England. You’ll see antiques and paintings here. There are a number of first edition books in the Salisbury House library.

Some of the other indoor places to visit in Des Moines are the Des Moines Art Center, the Science Center of Iowa, the State Historical Museum and the Polk County Heritage Art Gallery.

There’s a lot to see at the Principal Riverwalk in downtown Des Moines. You can sit in the Long Look Garden and look at the river. There’s ice staking during the winter here at the Brenton Skating Plaza.

You’ll find things to do in other parts of the state if this is where you choose to obtain further education. Cedar Rapids is the second largest city in the state. There are things to do indoors and outdoors here.

There are interesting things to see indoors and outdoors at Brucemore. The mansion here was built in 1886. This mansion and the gardens on the property are open for tours. You can learn about the area’s history at the Carl & Mary Koehler History Center. The buildings at Ushers Ferry Historic Village show what small town life was like around the beginning of the 20th century.

Some of the museums in the city are the African American Museum of Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art and the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.

You’ll be able to attend performances by Orchestra Iowa in Cedar Rapids. The Cedar Rapids Ice Arena is open for ice skating all year long.
