More Information About Training in Texas

Texas is the place for you to go to Sport Pilot Training if you’re looking for a big state with plenty to do. This state covers 268, 820 square miles and is the largest state in the continental United States. There are a lot of trees and some hills here. The weather in the state varies. Winter temperatures are usually in the 60s but may go down into the 30s or up into the 70s. Some of the areas in the state have a very small amount of snow in the winter and a lot of rain in the summer. High temperatures in the summer are about 95 degrees and sometimes rise above 100 degrees.

The largest city in the state is Houston. This city has a large number of malls and museums. Willowbrook Mall, the Houston Galleria and Memorial City Mall are three of the malls here. Some of the museums in Houston are the Museum of Fine Arts, the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences and the Contemporary Arts Museum.
You can attend concerts at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The Houston Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera perform at Wortham Center.

The coastal city of Galveston is about 50 miles southeast of Houston. There are beaches for swimming and sunbathing.

San Antonio is the second largest city in the state. It is about three hours east of Houston. This is a sprawling city where there are a lot of things to do. The San Antonio River flows through the city and you can get a close look at it by visiting the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk is a series of pathways next to the river. You can walk along the Riverwalk or travel along the river in a tour boat. Many of the restaurants on the Riverwalk have outside seating.

The Alamo in San Antonio is where the Mexican army defeated Texan soldiers at a battle in 1836. Buildings on the site have exhibits on the history of the state and the Texas Revolution.
The historic town of Fredericksburg is about 70 miles north of San Antonio. There are specialty shops, museums and restaurants here.

The third largest city in the state is Dallas. Dallas is about four hours north of Houston. This city was founded in 1841. You can learn about the city’s history at Dallas Heritage Village. This living history village presents a picture of North Texas life between 1840 and 1910. You’ll see Victorian homes and a farm from the Civil War period.

Dallas has a number of outdoor attractions. The Main Street Garden is a park in the middle of downtown. The Dallas Arboretum has 66 acres of flowers, plants and trees. A visit to the Bahama Beach Waterpark will help you cool off during the summer. There are nine miles of hiking trails at the Cedar Ridge Preserve.
