Celebrating our 90th anniversary, Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology has trained more than 100,000 pilots and technicians between our Tulsa, Oklahoma, Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado campuses. Spartan students come from across the United States and more than 62 foreign countries.

Spartan College has the expertise to guide you along the way. Our Inland Empire branch campus offers a Diplima in Aviation Maintenance Technology in just 15 months. Spartan College offers a combination of lecture and hands-on delivery methods to prepare graduates to obtain their Airframe and Powerplant certification.

The Riverside (Inland Empire area) Campus is located on the grounds of the Historic Flabob Airport. It's comprised of 5 classrooms and 3 shop areas which include 2 hangars accessible from the taxiways of the airport. Estimated for completion in Fall of 2020, our new school building is being built stone’s throw away with more classroom and lab space!

Established in 1928, Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology has trained over 100,000 pilots and technicians. We have campuses located in the following areas: Tulsa, OK; Los Angeles, CA; Inland Empire, CA; and Denver, CO. Spartan students have come from across the United States and over 62 countries.

From the beginning, Spartan College has worked to provide current and innovative training programs to prepare our graduates for the aviation industry. Besides the Tulsa Oklahoma Campus, Spartan College operates three additional locations with more than 247,000 square feet of training facilities, classrooms, and administrative space.

The branch is located on the historic Flabob Airport in Riverside, California.in aviation and technology. Inland Empire area Campus Highlights

The Riverside, CA campus of Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is a branch campus of the Spartan College campus located in Inglewood, CA. The branch is located on the historic Flabob Airport in Riverside, California.

This campus offers the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program (AMT) using tablet technology. Spartan College offers a combination of lecture and hands-on delivery methods to prepare graduates to obtain their Airframe and Powerplant certification.

The Riverside (Inland Empire) campus is conveniently located just over a mile south of the 60 Freeway and approximately 2 ½ miles West of the 215/91/60 interchange in downtown Riverside. The accessibility of our location to students is a great advantage to the Inland Empire area.

The branch campus is in Hangar 8 which comprises six (6) classrooms, one (1) breakroom/resource center, and 36,000 square feet of laboratory hangar space. The College features an array of industry relevant training aids to include, but not limited to:

  • Reciprocating and turbine powerplants
  • Variety of carburetors, magnetos, turbochargers
  • Propellers
  • Sheet metal shop containing brakes, shears, press and pneumatic drill and riveting equipment
  • Shops used for the study of wood, fabric, fiberglass, Plexiglas and composites
  • Aircraft electricity lab
  • Additional equipment used to study aircraft navigation, flight and communication instruments

Aviation Maintenance Technology (Diploma)

Aviation maintenance technicians keep aircrafts in safe flying condition by servicing, repairing, and overhauling aircraft components following stringent regulations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). All aircrafts are required to undergo thorough inspections and repairs on a regular basis. These services are provided by technicians certified by the FAA. Technicians in this field work on aircraft components and systems including airframe, piston engines, turbine engines, hydraulic systems, propellers, rigging, warning systems, and environmental systems.

Our History

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma as Spartan School of Aeronautics by W.G. Skelly, President of Skelly Oil Company, on September 27, 1928. He established Spartan Aircraft Company and formed the corporation which built Tulsa Municipal Airport (now called Tulsa International Airport).
