Aircraft Maintenance Technicians inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airframes, powerplants, and their related mechanical and electrical systems. Aircraft maintenance operations are routinely carried out as a function of major and regional airline maintenance operations, to include airline major maintenance base operations and airline line maintenance operations; Part 145 overhaul and major maintenance base operations; aircraft, powerplant and component manufacturing operations; corporate aviation operations, armed forces flight operations; and small aircraft general aviation fixed base maintenance operations. Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology and meet all prerequisites for taking the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification exams. This program is certified by the FAA and either meets or exceeds all FAA Part 147 training requirements. The Center also holds FAA approval to administer all A&P certification examinations on site. All earned associate degree course credits articulate directly into the 2+2 Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management through Fairmont State University. | |
