Time Building Programs - What to Look For
You've got your PPL, your instrument rating, your commercial, and your CFI. Congratulations! But what you may not have is enough hours, especially multi-engine hours, to land the job you want. Here's the solution... Time Building Programs! Explore and compare these time building schools to find the right combination of equipment, price, and rules of the road to get the hours you need to succeed. There are two main types of time building today... shared and solo. Shared programs typically pair you with another pilot and all flying is done VFR with one pilot flying "under the hood" and the other pilot acting as PIC. Under this scenario, both pilots are able to log PIC time simultaneously. Shared programs are less expensive per hour for both pilots. Solo programs are just that... You buy a block of time and go fly, VFR or IFR. All time logged is time as "sole manipulator of the controls". This type of training costs more but you get more actual flying time in.
